Senior Structural Engineer | Khatib & Alami – Consultancy Office, Saudi Arabia (2020 – Present)

Project: King Abdullah Project for the Development of Security Headquarters (KAP1) – Ministry of Interior, Saudi Arabia

• Lead structural site supervision for multiple reinforced-concrete security buildings, ensuring works are executed in line with approved drawings, specifications and required quality standards.

• Review structural designs and contractors’ shop drawings, focusing on constructability and applying Value Engineering principles to propose alternatives that optimize material use without compromising safety or quality.

• Prepare technical reports, site instructions and non-conformance reports (NCRs); follow up on corrective actions with contractors and help minimize rework by resolving issues early in the construction process.

• Coordinate with architecture, MEP and infrastructure teams to resolve clashes and site constraints, supporting smooth progress and technical adherence to contract specifications.

• Review and verify contractors’ quantity surveys and payment applications from a technical perspective, supporting cost-aware decisions by confirming that measured works match actual progress on site.

• Participate in joint inspections with the client’s representatives for handover of structural works, ensuring all comments and punch-list items are closed before acceptance.

Senior Structural Engineer | Al-Amar Consulting Group – Egypt (2016 – 2020)

Key Projects:

– Mivida Project – New Cairo (Project Owner: Emaar Misr)

– Avaris Compound – New Cairo (60-building residential compound – Manazel United)

• Supervised reinforced-concrete works for high-end residential buildings, ensuring structural elements were executed according to drawings and specifications and maintaining consistent quality across dozens of similar buildings.

• Performed detailed technical review of contractors’ shop drawings, RFIs and method statements, identifying missing details and constructability issues and proposing practical alternatives that improved buildability and optimized material use.

• Supported quantity surveying by performing quantity take-offs for structural items and reviewing BOQs and variations to ensure technical adherence to contract specifications and approved scope.

• Coordinated with the project owner’s representatives (including Emaar Misr) and main contractors to monitor progress, resolve technical issues quickly and keep works aligned with agreed time schedules.

• Participated in QA/QC activities, site inspections and closure of NCRs and punch-lists, contributing to minimize rework and maintain a consistent finishing quality across the project.

• Provided technical input during progress meetings, highlighting structural risks and constraints and recommending corrective or preventive actions when required.

Site Engineer then Site Manager | Al-Hadaff Services Co. Ltd – Jeddah & Jubail, Saudi Arabia (2009 – 2016)

Client: Saudi Ministry of Defense – Royal Naval and Air Forces (residential and infrastructure projects)

• Started as Structural Site Engineer supervising reinforced-concrete and civil works for government buildings, training facilities, roads and residential units, ensuring compliance with drawings, specifications and HSE requirements.

• Monitored day-to-day site activities, coordinated work crews and subcontractors, and resolved technical issues on site to keep activities aligned with project schedules.

• Reviewed construction drawings, raised technical queries where needed and supported constructability by aligning design details with actual site conditions.

• Performed quantity surveying for structural and civil items and reviewed contractors’ monthly payment applications from a technical standpoint before submission to the consultant/client.

• As Site Manager, led the site team on MOD residential projects, consolidating progress reports, following up punch-lists and helping minimize rework through timely closure of technical comments with the consultant.
